Your options in the battle. You can learn them with skill points given at character creation, and every time you gain a new level. What skill are available to you at the moment depends on stances you're adopting. Don't forget to read their description in combat. As there are hundreds of skills, only some of the stances and the most useful moves will be covered. In-Game description is provided in italics.

Balanced[]

You start with this stance, and it's a hub for going different ways: offensive, defensive, or sensual. You'll be using it a lot. So here's what you can do from there.

Other skills of interest[]

Grouped by stance, those are skills that may come in handy. Be careful with advanced stances techniques as they are useful in very specific situations. Check Advanced Tips, and know movesets before trying them out on serious opponents.

Defensive[]

  • Reversal Attack
  • Careful Attack — just a way to go offensive from here while still keeping guard.
  • Guard — basic guarding for tanking and recovering footing and stamina. You need a shield to absorb damage.
  • Second Wind — best way to recover stamina.
    • Sudden Advance
    • Center — some techniques benefit from being in Advantage. This is for invoking it.
    • Stonewall — best possible guard, but you waste turn for going in/out.
    • Parry — parrying without it is possible if you have good Agility, but in the Parrying stance you will be able to use Disarm on attacking enemy.
    • Seduce — if you're not strong enough to go Full Nelson, you can still try to arouse them with the next stance.

Offensive[]

  • Tempo Attack — predictable, but it's a most straightforward way to keep damaging medium section and inflicting Bleed.
  • Crushing Blow — use if you're in Offensive, and they're on the ground. You'll love the damage.
  • Combat Dodge — dodge it! Has good evasion chance, even better when you're faster than the enemy. You need high Agility because this move costs 7 stability.
  • Combat Guard — you adopt the Balanced stance while starting defending. Your stability may be forcing you to do this.
  • Armor Crusher — medium section armor damaging move. Sunderer perk is an alternative.
    • Overrun — makes your opponent lose stability, stoping offence, or tripping as the result (it's reasonable to trip them when they're low on low stamina and can't get up). Also this skill is ignoring blocks and parries.
  • Feint Strike
  • Footshot
  • Headshot
  • Wristshot
    • Berserk — next stance has powerful offensive moves... but you will only stop when you trip.
    • Assault — Blitz stance skill available in Offensive. It ignores blocking, and destabilises the enemy. But you will have to waste a turn to return to other stances.
    • Haymaker

Kneeling[]

  • Grab It — if you want to satisfy someone without losing purity. But you'll need Agility to do it faster than they make an obvious move.
  • Uppercut — the only way to go offensive from Kneeling. If you dodge on knees often, maybe it's worth a skill point.
